Arabic and English identities
for Saudi companies, done remotely.

I offer visual identity design and rebranding for companies in Saudi Arabia, working remotely: a logo suite, Arabic and Latin type, color, imagery and guidelines that work together. For Saudi Arabia I design Arabic and English versions of the name, logo and type so they work as one brand, including right-to-left layouts. Calls and weekly check-ins happen in Saudi time (UTC+3), and proposals come in USD or SAR. A brand identity takes 4–10 weeks and a rebrand 6–12 weeks.

Branding in Saudi Arabia: the market and the rules

The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) estimates Saudi Arabia had 35.3 million people in mid-2024, 44.4% of them not Saudi citizens, so plan the brand for a mixed audience. Real GDP grew 4.5% in 2025, but GASTAT’s revised estimates for the second quarter of 2026 show a 4.7% year-on-year fall as oil activities dropped 24.8%, while non-oil activities still grew 0.9%. In 2025, wholesale and retail trade, restaurants and hotels made up 12.3% of GDP at current prices, manufacturing outside oil refining 11.1% and construction 8.0%: sectors where a brand lives on shop signs, packs, fleets and site hoardings.

Article 1 of the Basic Law of Governance names Arabic as the Kingdom’s language. A National Policy for the Arabic Language, approved by the Council of Ministers in February 2026, calls on public bodies, the private sector and non-profits to use Arabic in contracts, commercial signs, invoices and advertising. My guide to bilingual Arabic–English brands shows the method on Lacio, a sewing supplies shop in Iraq whose Arabic name, لاسيو, is a transliteration, as Saudi rules ask of English trade names.

Three bodies shape the brand. The Ministry of Commerce registers companies and trade names: it issued more than 71,000 new commercial registrations in the second quarter of 2026, raising the total to more than 1.91 million, and one registration now covers every region. Municipalities regulate shop signs. The Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP) registers trademarks, which your lawyer files with the clean files I hand over.

  • English trade names need an Arabic spellingUntil April 3, 2025, trade names had to be Arabic or Arabized words, with exceptions such as foreign companies registered abroad. English names with numbers are now allowed, but 2025 rules require an Arabic transliteration, judge similarity by the Arabic form and bar “Saudi” or a Saudi place name as the main element.
  • Shop signs follow municipal sign guidesSigns follow the area’s urban code if any, then the local Amana’s sign guide (Riyadh and Jazan have one), then the Ministry’s guidance. The Ministry’s September 2020 requirements, still listed as in force, ask for raised letters, hidden lighting and no box; Jazan’s 2025 guide also allows flat panels and light boxes.
  • Arabic on labels and packagingThe US International Trade Administration’s guide to Saudi labeling says prepackaged food labels should be in Arabic or carry an Arabic translation, and warnings, safety instructions and manuals must be in Arabic or in Arabic and English. Leave room for Arabic in the first packaging layout.
  • A riyal symbol and Arabic digitsIn February 2025 the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) announced a riyal symbol, approved by King Salman, inspired by Arabic calligraphy and carrying the name “Riyal”, for financial and commercial transactions. Unicode’s locale data sets Saudi Arabic to Arabic-Indic digits, so pick an Arabic typeface with both digit sets.
  • Trademarks: SAIP and the Madrid SystemTrademark filings are rising: SAIP reports more than 64,200 applications in 2025, up 23%. From October 8, 2026, international registrations under the Madrid Protocol can designate the Kingdom. Saudi Arabia has up to 18 months, not 12, to notify a provisional refusal, and a refusal based on an opposition can come later.
  • A new logo means new shop signsIf the shop sign carries the logo, a rebrand that changes the logo changes the sign at every branch, and a design outside the local sign rules may need the municipality’s approval. List every sign, vehicle and label before the rebrand starts, so the rollout is planned with the design, not after it.

Questions founders ask

Do you work with businesses in Al Ahsa, Jubail, Yanbu, Taif and Tabuk?

Yes, remotely, on calls in Saudi time; there is no office or local team. What the brand carries changes by city. Jubail and Yanbu were developed as industrial cities by the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, so a B2B brand there works on fleets, site hoardings and proposals. Al-Ahsa Oasis, which Guinness World Records lists with 2.5 million date palms, and Taif’s rose practices are on UNESCO heritage lists: a date or rose brand lives on its label, so plan the Arabic early. Tabuk’s mayor counts tourism among the region’s strengths, so a hotel or tour brand there must read for visitors too.

What should I expect from a rebranding specialist in Saudi Arabia?

A rebrand takes 6–12 weeks: an audit of the brand you have, new positioning, a new identity and guidelines. In Saudi Arabia it can reach past the logo. Trade names can now be in English with an Arabic transliteration, a shop sign can show the logo next to the trade name, and a new name (naming is a separate service) should get a fresh SAIP trademark search. If only the logo needs a redesign that keeps what people recognize, logo refinement takes 1–2 weeks; a new logo takes 2–4 weeks.

Do I need an Arabic logo in Saudi Arabia?

No rule cited here asks for an Arabic logo, but Arabic is likely to sit next to yours. An English trade name needs an Arabic transliteration. Jazan’s 2025 municipal sign guide requires the shop name in Arabic on the sign, with the logo no taller than 40% of the name. Prepackaged food labels should be in Arabic or carry an Arabic translation, and the National Policy for the Arabic Language calls on businesses to use Arabic on commercial signs, invoices and advertising. So design the Arabic version together with the English one instead of translating it later.

Who registers the trademark, and does the Madrid System change anything?

Your lawyer files the trademark with SAIP; filing is not part of a design project, and I hand over clean final files. As of October 8, 2026, Saudi Arabia is part of the Madrid System, so an international registration can be extended to the Kingdom through WIPO, and Saudi Arabia has up to 18 months instead of 12 to notify a provisional refusal. If the name is new, my naming service runs a preliminary SAIP search first to rule out obvious conflicts, so your lawyer starts from a checked shortlist and does the full clearance.

How long does visual identity design take?

A brand identity takes 4–10 weeks, a rebrand 6–12 weeks, and a logo or a bilingual Arabic and English logo 2–4 weeks. The process is Discovery, Strategy, Identity and Handover, with two revision rounds per phase and weekly check-ins in Saudi time.

How much does a visual identity cost in Saudi Arabia?

It depends on the scope: a logo, a full identity or a rebrand, in one language or two, and how many signs, labels and screens the brand must work on from day one. After a free 30-minute call you get a fixed written proposal in USD or SAR with one price, the timeline and the deliverables, and the price never changes mid-project. The brand identity cost guide on this site gives typical ranges in the US and Dubai, and the riyal-dollar rate it uses to convert them.

Were these projects made for Saudi clients?

I don’t present any of them as a Saudi client. Lyvio, an AI real estate brand, was designed for the Middle East market. ZAYAN (solar energy), Astrix Builders (construction) and ROMO Logistics (transport) are the closest real work I have for energy, construction and logistics companies.
