Two stores, one theme:
the brand is the difference.
As an ecommerce brand designer, I design brand identities, logos and packaging for online stores and fashion labels, and I work remotely. When two stores on Salla, Zid or Shopify run the same theme, the brand is what a buyer remembers: on a phone, in a marketplace listing and on the parcel. For Saudi Arabia I design Arabic and English versions of the name, logo and type together. You start with a free 30-minute call in your time zone, then get a fixed written proposal.

What changes when the shop is a phone screen
Shoppers in Saudi Arabia already buy online. In the 2025 GASTAT survey, 71.0% of people aged 15–74 bought goods or services online, including 82.8% of Saudi women, and clothing, shoes and sports goods were bought by 88.8% of online shoppers. The Ministry of Commerce counted 48,497 e-commerce commercial registers at the end of Q2 2026, up 23% in a year. The same survey found that 98.4% of people aged 15–74 use a mobile phone to go online, so the logo and product photos have to work at phone size first.
Many Saudi stores run on the same few platforms. Salla’s CTO said in February 2025 that Salla had supported more than 60,000 online stores in Saudi Arabia over seven years, and Zid says more than 13,500 merchants chose it. When two abaya stores share a theme, what sets them apart is the name, the logo, the photos and the parcel.
Arabic matters in the details. Saudi Arabia’s National Policy for the Arabic Language asks the private sector to use Arabic in public material such as commercial signs, invoices and advertising. For Saudi Arabia I design Arabic and English versions of the name, logo and type so they work as one brand; read how a bilingual Arabic–English brand works. Selling in the US too? E-commerce made up 17.1% of US retail sales in Q2 2026 (seasonally adjusted), by the Census Bureau’s count, and the FTC rules on reviews and clothing labels below apply there.
- The store has to say who runs itThe Saudi E-Commerce Law makes an online store show its contact details and, if any, its commercial (or other public) register name and number, and every online ad the product name and seller’s contact details. Since March 2023, store verification uses the Business Platform, not Maroof. Leave room in footers and ads.
- Ads may only use marks you have a right to useUnder Article 11 of the same law, an online ad must not use a counterfeit logo or trademark, or one the seller has no right to use, and the Ministry of Commerce can order the ad corrected or withdrawn within one day. Build your ads around a mark of your own, and have your lawyer file it with SAIP.
- Abaya and clothing labels in ArabicSASO’s textile regulation, as amended in 2024, asks for labels in Arabic (English may be added), readable at purchase, including online. They list fiber content, country of origin and care instructions (words or symbols); the supplier’s name goes on the outer packaging. Plan the logo with the label in mind.
- English trade names are allowed nowSince April 2025, the Trade Names Law and its Regulations allow Arabic or English names, with letters and numbers; before, they had to be Arabic or Arabized, with few exceptions. English names need an Arabic transliteration, and a name like one reserved or registered is barred, in any activity. Check the name first.
- Amazon Brand Registry asks for a trademarkAmazon Brand Registry needs a pending or registered trademark from the office of a country with an Amazon store, such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE or the US, and a logo with the brand name permanently on the product or packaging. So the logo has to work small, on a label, a tag or a box.
- Selling direct to US buyers (DTC): reviews and labelsThe FTC’s 2024 rule bans fake reviews, including AI-generated ones, and buying fake followers or views to look more influential. Its textile rules ask online clothing listings to say “made in U.S.A.”, “imported” or both, and labels to show fiber content, origin and the company’s name or RN.

Questions founders ask
What does an ecommerce brand designer do?
An ecommerce brand designer shapes what buyers remember about a store: the name, logo, type, color, imagery and packaging, plus the guidelines that keep them the same on your site, social and marketplaces. I don’t build the store or produce ad campaigns; I hand over the files your developer or theme needs. In Arabic this work is called تصميم هوية بصرية لمتجر الكتروني. The logo has to read at every size a store uses, from a favicon and a marketplace thumbnail to a parcel label.
Can you design the visual identity for my Salla, Zid or Shopify store (تصميم هوية بصرية لمتجر سلة)?
Yes. I design the identity your Salla, Zid or Shopify theme uses: logo files for the header, favicon and print, color, type and rules for banners and product photos, with brand guidelines (PDF) and a Figma library. Setting up the theme is not part of the project, but the files are ready for whoever does it. For a Saudi store I design Arabic and English versions of the name and logo together, including right-to-left layouts.
Do you do abaya and fashion brand identity design (تصميم هوية بصرية لعبايات)?
Yes. The identity covers your logo, color, type and imagery, with Arabic and English versions of the name and logo for a label that sells in Saudi Arabia; with packaging design it also covers the boxes and stickers your orders ship in. SASO’s textile regulation, as amended in 2024, asks for clothing labels in Arabic (English can be added), with fiber content, country of origin and care instructions, and SASO does not allow Qur’an verses or the word “Allah” on labels. I plan the logo with those label details in mind. The closest work I can show is packaging, such as ChocoBloom and Bright Fizz.
Should my store name be in Arabic or English?
It can be either. Under Saudi Arabia’s Trade Names Law and its Regulations, a name can be in Arabic or English, including letters and numbers, and an English name is registered with an Arabic transliteration. The National Policy for the Arabic Language asks businesses to use Arabic in public material such as invoices and advertising. If you sell in Saudi Arabia, plan for both: I design the Arabic and English versions together. If you need a new name, brand naming gives you a shortlist with domain and social checks and a preliminary SAIP search.
Do I need a trademark for Amazon Brand Registry?
Yes. Amazon asks for a pending or registered trademark from the trademark office of a country with an Amazon store, such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE or the US, and a logo with your brand name permanently on the product or packaging. Trademark filing is not part of my work: your lawyer files with SAIP in Saudi Arabia or the USPTO in the US, and I hand over clean files for it.
Do you design supplement brands?
Yes, as a brand identity with packaging design. In the US, the FDA says the front panel must carry a statement of identity such as “dietary supplement” or “calcium supplement”, in bold type sized in relation to the most prominent text, and that the brand name should not be unduly prominent compared with it. So I plan the logo and the front of the pack together.
How much does branding cost for an online store?
It depends on the scope: a logo for a new Salla or Shopify store, a full identity for a fashion label, or an identity with boxes and labels for a product range, in Arabic, English or both. After a free 30-minute call you get a fixed written proposal with one price, the timeline and the deliverables, in USD or SAR for Saudi Arabia. The guide to brand identity cost in 2026, under Related reading below, explains typical market ranges.
