01

The brief

A simple, cheerful name that evokes a happy, wagging tail.

Happy Tail aspires to be a solution for dogs’ overall health and mood, with their food preferences and health benefits in mind. The personality on the brief: friendly, playful, caring, vibrant, trustworthy and fun-loving.

02

The mark

A heavy lowercase wordmark with heart-shaped counters, a smiling line-drawn dog face and a round “a” seal.

The a with its heart counter also stands alone as a mark, and the dog face and the seal work as stickers in every brand color.

03

Color & stationery

Orange, indigo, lilac, hot pink, yellow and plum, with paw, bone and collar icons, on cards, totes and tags.

The overview board shows it all together: stickers, a bone-shaped tag, business cards, pouches, a tote and a street banner.

Packaging

Dog food packaging design: stand-up pouches in one color per recipe, each with a dog portrait in a wavy window and a wavy-edged recipe label.

Recipes pair chicken, duck or lamb with rice and a vegetable. Every label reads “Well-balanced food for all dogs’ nutrition.”, and a pink mailer box holds the pouches.

Website & outdoor

An online store that opens with “Premium Nutrition for Your Beloved Dog” in the same indigo, orange and yellow.

The long page runs from benefits and the product range to reviews, an offer banner and FAQs. On the street, a long wall banner lines up a beagle and the three pouches.

Pet food branding questions

Straight answers before you book a call.

How do you design dog food packaging?

Make every recipe easy to tell apart and every pack feel like the same brand. Happy Tail’s stand-up pouches use one color per recipe, a dog portrait in a wavy window and a wavy-edged label that names the recipe, such as chicken, duck or lamb with rice and a vegetable. A pink mailer box holds the pouches. Leave room for the details your market’s pet food labeling rules require. Packaging design takes 2–4 weeks.

What does a pet food brand identity include?

A logo, color, type and a set of small assets that work on packs, print and screens. For Happy Tail that meant a heavy lowercase wordmark with heart-shaped counters, a smiling dog face badge, a round “a” seal, paw, bone and collar icons and a six-color palette, then business cards, a bone-shaped tag, a tote, pouches, a website and a street banner. Our identity projects hand over brand guidelines (PDF) and a Figma library.

Do you design pet food websites?

Yes, we design the site and your developer builds it, since the website build is not part of our scope. Happy Tail’s online store opens with “Premium Nutrition for Your Beloved Dog”, then runs through benefits, the product range, reviews, an offer banner and FAQs in the brand’s indigo, orange and yellow, with a mobile version for phones. Website design can be part of a brand identity project, which takes 4–10 weeks.

How much does pet food brand identity cost?

It depends on scope: strategy, logo, guidelines and the applications you need, such as signage, packaging or a website. After a free 30-minute call you get a written quote for your exact scope. Our guide to brand identity pricing explains what drives the cost.

How long does a brand identity project take?

A focused logo project takes a few weeks. A full identity with guidelines and launch assets takes longer. You get a clear timeline with your quote, before any work starts.

Do you work with pet food founders in the US and the Middle East?

Yes. We work with founders across the US and the Middle East, with calls in your time zone and files your team can use from day one.

What do we get at the end of the project?

A logo and mark, color and typography, brand guidelines and organized master files, plus any website, packaging or launch assets in your scope.
