01

The brief

A new bar from a chocolate shop in France, in two flavors.

One flavor combines dark chocolate with elderflower for a hint of musky taste. The other, lavender, has a subtle pine-like note that pairs with dark or milk chocolate, honey and vanilla.

02

The idea

A friendly, approachable chocolate companion, with two cheerful chocolate bar characters.

A vibrant yet muted palette of soft greens and pinks stands for the different flavors and makes the range feel sweet and sensory.

Packaging design questions

Straight answers before you book a call.

How do you design chocolate packaging?

Start with the flavors and the feeling of the brand, then build one system that every flavor can wear. For ChocoBloom’s new 70% bars we gave elderflower and lavender their own colors from a soft palette of greens and pinks, wrapped them in bold swirls with a botanical drawing of each flavor, and added two cheerful chocolate bar characters that carry into the campaign. Packaging design takes 2–4 weeks.

What should be on a chocolate bar wrapper?

The front should show the brand, the flavor and the cocoa percentage at a glance, so each bar is easy to tell apart on a shelf. The back carries the details your market requires, such as ingredients and allergens, so check them with your food regulator. ChocoBloom’s 70% bars use bold swirls and a botanical drawing of each flavor, with one color pair per flavor: mint and plum for lavender, lime and plum for elderflower.

Do you design chocolate branding as well as packaging?

Yes. Chocolate packaging can be a 2–4 week project on its own, or part of a brand identity, which takes 4–10 weeks and adds the logo, color, type and brand guidelines. For ChocoBloom, a chocolate shop in France, the work went past the wrappers to two bar characters, a color and pattern system, a kraft paper bag, a tote, a thank-you card and campaign lines like “Go for it. You deserve it!”

How much does chocolate packaging design cost?

It depends on scope: strategy, logo, guidelines and the applications you need, such as signage, packaging or a website. After a free 30-minute call you get a written quote for your exact scope. Our guide to brand identity pricing explains what drives the cost.

How long does a brand identity project take?

A focused logo project takes a few weeks. A full identity with guidelines and launch assets takes longer. You get a clear timeline with your quote, before any work starts.

Do you work with food and confectionery brands in the US and the Middle East?

Yes. We work with founders across the US and the Middle East, with calls in your time zone and files your team can use from day one.

What do we get at the end of the project?

A logo and mark, color and typography, brand guidelines and organized master files, plus any website, packaging or launch assets in your scope.
