Patients judge the brand,
and so does your license.

Dental practice branding has to earn trust before the first visit and fit the rules on names and titles: the ADA Code calls a practice name that misleads patients unethical, and Google asks that your listing use the name on your sign. I work remotely on names, logos, identities and rebrands for dental and chiropractic practices, Saudi clinics, and biotech and life science companies; your lawyer confirms the rules. You start with a free 30-minute call in your time zone, then get a fixed written proposal.

Healthcare brands answer to patients and to regulators

In the US, the ADA Health Policy Institute counted 202,485 dentists in 2024; 16.1% were affiliated with a dental support organization (DSO), up from 7.2% in 2015, and 34% practiced solo. Chiropractors held about 61,700 jobs in 2025, and 36% were self-employed, the BLS says. In Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Health counted 20,236 private-sector dentists in 2024, up from 12,039 in 2020, and 3,607 private medical complexes against 56 single-doctor clinics. In Massachusetts, MassBio reports that biopharma companies drew a quarter of all US biopharma venture capital in the first half of 2026, while the state’s biopharma jobs fell 3.1% in 2025.

That changes the brief. Patients size up a dental, chiropractic or clinic brand before the first visit, on a sign, a Google listing and a review page, and the rules limit what its name, titles and ads may say. A biotech brand speaks first to investors, partners and recruits, and may not promise what the trials have not shown.

  • Decide who the practice is forA family practice, a cosmetic studio and a pediatric office need different names, colors and photos: choose the patients you want more of before the logo. Say “cosmetic dentistry”, not “cosmetic specialist”: it isn’t one of the 12 specialties the ADA Code lists, and general dentists must say they are general dentists.
  • A dental practice name has rulesThe ADA Code calls a false practice name, or one that misleads patients, unethical; a departed dentist’s name may stay up to a year, or longer with their permission and a public notice that they retired. In California, an owner practicing under a fictitious name needs a Dental Board permit; a county filing won’t do.
  • In Texas, the sign must name the licenseTexas law says a licensee whose name is on a sign, pamphlet, stationery or letterhead must state the healing art they practice. A chiropractor uses “chiropractor”, “doctor of chiropractic” or “D.C.”; a dentist uses “dentist”, “D.D.S.” or “doctor of dental medicine, D.M.D.” Plan the line into the sign and stationery.
  • Saudi clinics: the entrance sign follows the licenseSaudi Ministry of Health rules require the license on display and an entrance sign with the facility’s name, licensed specialty and working hours, staff badges with name and specialty, a posted list of doctors and a sign with the 937 complaints number. Discounts or promotional offers in any ad need Ministry approval.
  • Saudi doctors: self-promotion is restrictedSaudi law bars practitioners from advertising or promoting themselves except as the regulations allow, and from showing titles or specialties they have not obtained on signs, cards, prescriptions or ads. Clinic ads must follow the Ministry’s health advertising content controls. Build the brand around the clinic.
  • Biotech: no promises the trials have not madeUS rules bar promoting an investigational drug as safe or effective. FDA’s 2020 naming guidance asks sponsors to screen names against USAN stems and calls a name that contains or sounds like “cure” concerning for a drug that treats the symptoms of a chronic disease. Name the company and products separately.

Questions founders ask

What does dental practice branding include?

A name if you need one (a separate service), a logo and identity system, and that identity shown where patients meet it: the sign, stationery, social posts, the website and your Google listing; the website build is not included. Google asks that the listing name match the real-world name used on your storefront, website and stationery, with no unnecessary extra information, and that a business showing its address keeps permanent signage of its name there. A logo usually takes 2–4 weeks and a full brand identity 4–10 weeks.

Should I name my dental practice after myself?

It depends on your plans. Your own name builds on your reputation, but the ADA Code lets a departed dentist’s name stay for only up to a year, or longer with their permission and a public notice that they retired. In California, an owner practicing under a fictitious name needs a Dental Board permit. Google allows a middle path: if you are the only public-facing dentist at a branded practice, one profile can be named “[practice]: [your name]”. More dentists now work with DSOs, so if you may add dentists, join a group or sell, a name not tied to one person is easier to keep.

Do you do chiropractic branding?

Yes, remotely, for practices anywhere in the US, with calls on Eastern or Pacific time. Before the logo, decide what you want to be known for: a general practice, or a focus such as sports, neurology or nutrition, areas the BLS says chiropractors may specialize in. Then the name, the mark and the photos won’t look like the next practice’s. Plan the title too: in Texas, a chiropractor’s name on a sign or letterhead must carry “chiropractor”, “doctor of chiropractic” or “D.C.” A logo usually takes 2–4 weeks and a full identity 4–10 weeks.

Do you do clinic branding in Saudi Arabia?

Yes, remotely, for clinics and medical complexes, with calls in your working hours and proposals in USD or SAR. For Saudi Arabia I design Arabic and English versions of the name, logo and type so they work as one brand, including right-to-left layouts. Ministry of Health rules ask for an entrance sign with the clinic’s name, licensed specialty and working hours. A trade name built on a doctor’s name must use their full legal name, three or four parts, as on the ID, and an English name needs an Arabic transliteration. Your lawyer files the trademark with SAIP.

Are you a biotech brand designer for Boston companies?

Yes, remotely. A Boston biotech gets the same process as any client: calls on Eastern time and weekly check-ins; there is no office in Boston. MassBio reports that Massachusetts biopharma companies drew a quarter of US biopharma venture capital in the first half of 2026 and eight went public, so a life science brand often has to work for a raise, a partner deck and hiring at once. A biotech logo has to stay clear on a slide, a conference poster and a badge, so I test it there.

Can a clinic ask patients for reviews?

Yes, but don’t buy them or fake them. In the US, the FTC’s final rule announced in August 2024 bans fake reviews and testimonials, including AI-generated ones, incentives conditioned on positive or negative reviews, certain insider reviews without a clear disclosure, and groundless legal threats or intimidation used to suppress negative reviews. A simple, honest request, such as a card at the front desk or a follow-up message, can use your brand’s type and colors.

How much does healthcare branding cost?

It depends on the scope: a logo, a full identity or a rebrand, one language or two, and how many touchpoints the brand needs on day one, from the sign to the pitch deck. After a free 30-minute call you get a fixed written proposal with one price, the timeline and the deliverables. The brand identity cost guide under Related reading explains typical market ranges.
