Unaizah dates and food,
branded in Arabic and English.
If you are looking for a brand designer or brand identity designer in Unaizah, I work remotely and can design the brand identity, packaging or rebrand for a date farm, packer, food maker or shop there, with the Arabic and English as one brand for the carton and storefront. Calls and weekly check-ins happen in your working hours (UTC+3). After a free 30-minute call you get a fixed written proposal with one price, the timeline and the deliverables. A brand identity takes 4–10 weeks and packaging design 2–4 weeks.

Branding in Unaizah, from the date auction to the shelf
Unaizah is a governorate in Qassim Region, about 28 km from Buraydah, and the region’s second-largest by population: 184,644 people at the 2022 census, 123,122 of them Saudi and 61,522 non-Saudi. The Saudi Press Agency calls Unaizah and Qassim major hubs of the Saudi date industry, and Qassim has more palm trees than any other region: 11.2 million in Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture statistics from July 2023. Dates from the Unaizah International Dates Season, known as “Naqwa Unaizah,” had reached 65 countries by 2022, when the head of the Unaizah Chamber’s agricultural committee named Sukkari the variety most wanted abroad.
So if you grow, pack or sell dates in Unaizah, or make Hanini and other traditional foods, the brand has to hold up on a carton in the market yard, a gift box, an export label and a storefront, with Arabic as the lead language. I do this remotely, with no office or team in Unaizah. For how to pair the two scripts on a label or a sign, and whether to transliterate or translate a name, read how to design a bilingual Arabic–English brand.
- Date labels start in ArabicSFDA’s labeling regulation for prepackaged food, SFDA.FD/GSO 9, says labels must be in Arabic and that any other language on them must match the Arabic. For a box of Unaizah Sukkari, set the Arabic product name and variety as the lead text and make the English a faithful second line.
- The carton is part of the identityQassim’s date trade has moved from open containers and bulk pits to standardized cardboard cartons, and buyers say uniform packaging shows grade, weight and variety clearly. At the Unaizah auction in 2024, dates passed quality and health inspections before sale. Plan the carton with the logo, not after it.
- One carton system for three gradesIn late August 2026 the company running Naqwa Unaizah put Sukkari at more than 80% of the dates on offer, in three grades: Royal Sukkari, medium Sukkari and Galaxy. If you pack several grades, make the grade readable at a glance and keep the brand the same, with a set place for the Saudi Dates Mark if you hold it.
- An English trade name is checked in ArabicSince April 3, 2025, a trade name can be registered in English, but it must carry an Arabic transliteration, and similarity to other trade names is judged through that Arabic. If your farm or packing company registers an English trade name, check how it reads in Arabic letters too, because that is the version compared.
- Signs, invoices and ads in ArabicThe National Policy for the Arabic Language, approved on February 3, 2026, asks the private sector to use Arabic in contracts, commercial signs, invoices and ads. Shop signs and signs on commercial vehicles go through the municipalities: in Unaizah, the Unaizah Municipality, under Qassim Municipality.
- Hanini has its own annual festivalUnaizah Chamber organized the 10th annual Hanini and Traditional Foods Festival in January 2026, with more than 80 booths at Al Musawkaf Heritage Market. If you sell Hanini there, design the booth, the pack and the posts from one identity, and count back 2–4 weeks of packaging design plus print time from opening day.
Services for Unaizah
All services- Brand identityStrategy, logo, Arabic and English type, color and guidelines for a new Unaizah date, food or retail business, ready for cartons, storefronts and social.
- Packaging designDate boxes, gift packs and cartons designed around the Arabic label text first, with English that matches it, so one look carries from the auction yard to the shelf.
- Bilingual logo designOne mark in Arabic and English for a farm, factory or shop name, drawn so neither script looks like an afterthought on a carton or a sign.
- RebrandingWhen an Unaizah farm starts packing and exporting its own dates, or a shop grows into a factory, the old brand stops fitting: new positioning and identity in Arabic and English.
- Brand namingName ideas and a shortlist for a farm, a date label or a Hanini line, with domain and social checks and a preliminary SAIP trademark search before you commit to a name.

Questions founders ask
Do you have an office or a team in Unaizah?
No. I work remotely with businesses in Unaizah and have no office or team there. The free call and the weekly check-ins sit in your working hours, and since Saudi Arabia stays on UTC+3 all year with no daylight saving, the times don’t shift during the date season.
Do my date boxes need Arabic on the label?
Yes. SFDA requires labels on prepackaged food to be in Arabic, and any English on the box has to match the Arabic. For Saudi Arabia I design Arabic and English versions of the name, logo and type so they work as one brand, including right-to-left layouts. Check the full label requirements with SFDA before you print.
Will the Arabic name on my date box be designed, or just typed?
Designed. If you searched for مصمم هوية بصرية في عنيزة (a visual identity designer in Unaizah), I do that work remotely: I design the Arabic and English versions of the name, logo and type together so they work as one brand, not translated afterward, and try them on a carton, a gift box and a sign.
Can you rebrand my date business before the next season?
Yes, if you start early enough. A rebrand takes 6–12 weeks, a brand refresh 3–6 weeks and packaging design 2–4 weeks, and printing comes after that. In 2026, boxes from the season’s second harvest were reaching Unaizah’s market yards by late August, so count back from the day you need new cartons there. The process is Discovery, Strategy, Identity and Handover, with two revision rounds per phase.
Can you register my trademark with SAIP?
No. Trademark filing is not part of a design project: your lawyer files it with the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, and I hand over clean files. If you are still choosing a name, the naming service includes a preliminary search of SAIP records before you commit.
How much does branding cost for a business in Unaizah?
It depends on the scope: a logo on its own, a full identity, or an identity with a range of date boxes and gift packs. After a free 30-minute call you get a fixed written proposal with one price, and the price never changes mid-project.
Is the work on this page from Unaizah?
No. I don’t present any project here as an Unaizah client, and none of them is a date brand. They are my closest real work to the food and farm trade on this page: ChocoBloom chocolate packaging, Bright Fizz soda cans, Tong, a coffee shop, and Kresho, an agritech brand.
