Branding for Dhahran’s energy
and research companies, done remotely.
If you need a brand designer in Dhahran for an energy supplier, a research spin-out or a deep-tech startup, I work remotely on brand identity, rebranding and Arabic–English logos. With Aramco’s headquarters, KFUPM and Dhahran Techno Valley in the city, plan a brand that works in a supplier proposal or a research deck as well as on a website. Calls happen in Arabia Standard Time (UTC+3). After a free 30-minute call you get a fixed written proposal; a brand identity takes 4–10 weeks.

Dhahran: energy, research and a two-language audience
The 2022 Saudi census counted 143,936 people in Dhahran, and the city forms part of the Dammam metropolitan area with Dammam and Al-Khobar. Aramco has its headquarters here and built its Research and Development Center in Dhahran in 2000. King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) was established in Dhahran in 1963, and Dhahran Techno Valley, anchored by the university, says it is home to more than 20 multinational research centers and 65 deep-tech startups.
So if your buyers are energy companies, research centers or investors in deep tech, plan for the brand to appear in tender packs, capability decks and exhibition stands as well as on social media. A visual identity designer in Dhahran (مصمم هوية بصرية في الظهران) has one main job: a brand that reads correctly in Arabic and English in every one of those places. I do this remotely, with no office in Dhahran: weekly check-ins and design reviews happen on calls in your working hours. For tender covers and exhibition stands where both scripts sit side by side, read how to design a bilingual Arabic–English brand.
- Selling to Aramco runs through iktvaAramco’s iktva program states that participation is required for doing business with Aramco, and suppliers submit a 5-year iktva action plan. If Aramco is a target customer, your identity has to carry proposals and plan documents as carefully as your website.
- Forums and exhibition standsThe iktva Forum 2027 is listed for January 11–14, 2027 at Dhahran Expo. Exhibiting means a stand, a deck, brochures and badges at the same time, so the brand system should cover print and large-format work from the start.
- Startups next to a research universityDhahran Techno Valley draws on KFUPM’s 13,000+ students and 800+ researchers and professors. A deep-tech startup there may need one brand that works for investors, corporate pilots and hiring at once.
- A mixed audience, two scriptsAbout 58.2% of Dhahran’s residents are Saudi citizens, so roughly four in ten hold another nationality. For Saudi Arabia I design Arabic and English versions of the name, logo and type so they work as one brand, including right-to-left layouts.
- Your trade name under the 2025 lawSince April 3, 2025, Saudi trade names can be Arabic, Arabized, English or alphanumeric, and an English name needs an Arabic transliteration. A name reserved through the Saudi Business Center must not resemble one already registered or reserved, or a well-known international name or trademark in the Kingdom.
Services for Dhahran
All services- Brand identityStrategy, logo, Arabic and English type, color and guidelines for a new Dhahran company that will pitch to energy buyers, research partners or investors.
- RebrandingFor a Dhahran company that has changed, say a contractor moving into Aramco supply or a lab spin-out selling to industry: an audit, new positioning and an identity in both scripts.
- Bilingual logo designOne mark in Arabic and English that holds up on a tender cover, a conference badge and an app icon.
- Brand namingName ideas and a shortlist, domain and social checks, and a preliminary SAIP trademark search before you reserve the name at the Saudi Business Center.
- Brand guidelinesRules your printers, stand builders and agencies can follow, so both scripts stay correct from the proposal to the exhibition floor.

Questions founders ask
Do you have an office in Dhahran?
No. I am a brand identity designer working remotely with businesses in Dhahran. The city runs on Arabia Standard Time (UTC+3) with no clock change, so the free first call and the weekly check-ins are set in your working hours.
Can you rebrand an established Dhahran company?
Yes, as a remote rebranding specialist. A rebrand covers an audit, new positioning and a new identity and takes 6–12 weeks. It fits a company that has changed, such as a contractor now bidding for Aramco work or a Dhahran Techno Valley startup that has grown past its first logo. If buyers already know your name and the brand only looks dated in decks and on stands, a brand refresh takes 3–6 weeks.
I want to supply Aramco. What should my brand cover?
Plan the brand for the documents you send, not only the website: proposals and a capability deck, and stand graphics if you exhibit at events such as the iktva Forum. A brand identity covers strategy, logo, Arabic and English type, color and imagery, shown on real touchpoints such as a proposal and a deck, with guidelines (PDF) and a Figma library your team can use to lay out the next tender.
Can my trade name be in English?
Yes. Since April 3, 2025, a Saudi trade name can be in English, but it needs an accompanying Arabic transliteration, and similarity to names already registered or reserved is judged through that Arabic, whatever the activity. Reserve the name through the Saudi Business Center before the logo is final. My naming service includes a preliminary search of registered marks in Saudi Arabia (SAIP).
Do you file the trademark with SAIP?
No. Trademark filing is not part of a design project: your lawyer files it, and I hand over clean files. SAIP takes applications online; its service page lists an execution time of 90 days and a 60-day publication period before the certificate is issued, so build that into your launch plan.
How much does branding cost in Dhahran?
It depends on the scope: a bilingual logo for a research spin-out is a smaller project than a full identity or a rebrand for a contractor bidding for Aramco work. After a free 30-minute call you get a fixed written proposal with one price, the timeline and the deliverables, and the price never changes mid-project.
Are the projects on this page from Dhahran?
No, none of them is a Dhahran client. ZAYAN (solar energy) and SpareCharge (EV charging) are my closest energy work; Secuara (cybersecurity, a San Francisco company) and Core.hr (HR software) are the closest I have to the deep-tech startups around KFUPM and Dhahran Techno Valley.
