A brand designer for Myrtle Beach,
from peak season to the quiet months.

A brand designer in Myrtle Beach has to plan for both seasons: a hotel, restaurant, golf course or clinic is seen by summer crowds and by locals the rest of the year. I work remotely with Grand Strand businesses on brand identity, rebranding and logos, with calls and weekly check-ins on Eastern time. After a free 30-minute call you get a fixed written proposal with one price, the timeline and the deliverables. A brand identity takes 4–10 weeks and a rebrand 6–12 weeks.

Beach season and health care: branding on the Grand Strand

Myrtle Beach had 40,937 residents in the Census Bureau’s July 2025 estimate, but it anchors a much larger market. Horry County grew 21.8% from 2020 to 2025, to 427,551 people, and business applications there rose from 3,733 in 2019 to 6,926 in 2025. Visit Myrtle Beach counts more than 17 million visitors a year along the 60-mile Grand Strand. Across the wider Myrtle Beach area, its research counts about 157,000 rooms and units in hotels, condos, villas and home rentals, about 2,000 full-service restaurants and about 80 golf courses.

Tourism sets the calendar. In BLS data for the metro area (as of October 2026), leisure and hospitality was the largest sector in every month from March to August 2026, growing from 36,000 jobs in March to 45,600 in July. Health care is a large employer too: on the Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corporation’s list of top employers in Horry County, the school district, Coastal Carolina University and county government are followed by three hospitals.

I have no office on the Grand Strand; I work remotely, with calls and check-ins on Eastern time. For a beach shop, a golf course or a rental company, the brand has to work on a sign (inside Myrtle Beach city limits, one the city reviews) and on a booking page a visitor may see only once, on a phone; for a clinic, on forms and signs older patients can read. If your sign has hung over the same storefront for years and you are not sure it needs a full rebrand, read rebrand or refresh: 5 questions.

  • Built for July and for JanuaryMyrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) counted 73,015 passengers boarding in January 2025 and 228,716 in July. Your brand has to win a first glance from a summer visitor and keep locals coming back in the quiet months, so plan the beach-season signs and the off-season offers as one system.
  • The city reviews signsInside city limits, the Community Appearance Board reviews signs, commercial buildings and oceanfront residential plans, and the Planning & Zoning Department enforces the sign rules. Tell me where your sign will go, and the logo is tested at that size.
  • Health care for an older countyCensus data put 29.9% of Horry County residents at 65 or older. MBREDC’s list of the county’s top employers includes three hospitals: Conway Medical Center, McLeod Seacoast and Grand Strand Medical Center, with 1,300 to 1,800 employees each. A clinic’s name, signs and forms must be clear to older patients and families.
  • How your name sounds in other languagesThe City of Myrtle Beach posts its beach rules in French, Portuguese and Spanish, and 13.9% of Myrtle Beach residents aged 5 and over speak a language other than English at home (2020–2024). If you sell to visitors, ask native speakers how your name reads and sounds in those languages before the logo is drawn.
  • Your name and the SC Secretary of StateSouth Carolina’s Secretary of State does not register DBA or trade names, and forming an LLC or corporation gives no exclusive right to a name. Marks already in use can be registered there for five years at a time. Business licenses come from the city or county; in Myrtle Beach, renewals are due by April 30.
  • Using Visit Myrtle Beach’s “The Beach” brandVisit Myrtle Beach launched “The Beach” in 2021 and calls it a community brand; locals are invited to use its assets, in approved color combinations, in their own communications. If you do, set it beside your logo as local pride, and keep your own name and symbol strong enough to stand alone.

Questions founders ask

Do you have an office or a team in Myrtle Beach?

No. I work remotely and have no office or team in Myrtle Beach or anywhere else on the Grand Strand, from Little River to Pawleys Island. Myrtle Beach is on Eastern time, so the free 30-minute call and the weekly check-ins are booked in your working hours.

For a Myrtle Beach business, are you a freelance brand identity designer or an agency?

I am a brand designer and the founder of Wolfpixel, and I lead a design team for founders in the US and the Middle East, with 350+ projects behind us. With a Grand Strand business I keep the same terms: a free 30-minute call on Eastern time, one fixed written price, two revision rounds per phase and full ownership of the final files.

We need a rebranding specialist in Myrtle Beach. When should we start?

Before the season, not during it. I work remotely, and a rebrand takes 6–12 weeks; if you mostly need to modernize what customers already recognize, a brand refresh takes 3–6 weeks. In the BLS count, leisure and hospitality jobs in the metro rose by about 9,600 between March and July 2026, so aim to have new signs, menus and booking pages ready before spring. If the legal name of your LLC or corporation changes, the South Carolina Secretary of State handles that through Articles of Amendment.

Will my logo work on a sign the city has to review?

I test the logo at your sign’s real size before it is final; approval is the city’s call. In the City of Myrtle Beach, the Community Appearance Board reviews signs, commercial buildings and oceanfront residential construction plans, and every business license application is checked by the Zoning Administrator to confirm the business can operate at that address. On the first call, tell me where the sign will go and how large it can be.

Do I need a South Carolina trademark or a federal one?

Your lawyer should decide, but the two registrations work differently. The South Carolina Secretary of State registers marks that are already in use, for five years at a time, and asks you to search its records and the USPTO first. The USPTO says a state registration creates rights in that state only, while a federal one covers the whole US and its territories and lets you use the ® symbol. I don’t file trademarks: your lawyer files, and I hand over clean files. The naming service includes a preliminary USPTO search.

How much does branding cost for a Myrtle Beach business?

It depends on the scope: how many places the brand has to work on day one, from signs and uniforms to booking pages and patient forms. After a free 30-minute call you get a fixed written proposal with one price, the timeline and the deliverables, and the price never changes mid-project. The guide to brand identity cost in 2026 explains typical US market ranges.

Is the work on this page from Myrtle Beach?

No. The projects are chosen for their sector, and I don’t present any of them as a Myrtle Beach client. Wayfare is a travel agency in Los Angeles, Reva7 a resort, Tong a coffee shop and Sovia a mental wellbeing brand: my closest real work to the hospitality and health care businesses described on this page.
