Ras Al KhaimahUpdated

From RAKEZ factories to Al Marjan hotels,
one brand in Arabic and English.

If you are looking for a brand designer in Ras Al Khaimah for a RAKEZ factory, a hotel or an Innovation City startup, I work remotely on brand identity, rebranding and Arabic–English logos. Manufacturing is about 27% of the emirate’s GDP and tourism drew a record 1.35 million overnight visitors in 2025, so brands here range from factory product catalogs to hotel signs. After a free 30-minute call in UAE time (GMT+4) you get a fixed written proposal in USD or AED; a brand identity takes 4–10 weeks.

Ras Al Khaimah: factories, ports and a growing resort coast

Ras Al Khaimah is the northernmost of the seven emirates. Its Government Media Office puts the population at about 0.4 million (the page gives no year) and names tourism, real estate, manufacturing, shipping, financial services and digital services as key sectors, none above 27% of GDP. Its major companies include RAK Ceramics, Julphar, RAKBANK, RAK Ports and Stevin Rock.

Arabic is the formal language and English is widely used in business, the RAK Government portal notes, and RAKEZ alone has companies from more than 100 countries. So a RAK brand should read clearly in Arabic and in English, for customers from many countries. As a brand identity designer for Ras Al Khaimah companies, I design Arabic and English versions of the name, logo and type so they work as one brand, including right-to-left layouts. This article walks through how I do it on a real Arabic–English project.

  • RAKEZ, the DED or another free zoneRAKEZ licenses free zone firms and non-free zone ones that sell directly in the local market. It reached 50,000 companies in August 2026, with factories in Al Ghail and Al Hulaila. The RAK Department of Economic Development (DED) licenses mainland firms. Innovation City and RAK Maritime City are separate free zones.
  • Industry that ships through Saqr PortSaqr Port is a deep-water port with a cargo capacity of over 100 million metric tons a year, and its free zone is known as RAK Maritime City. RAKEZ manufacturers make building materials, metals, food and electronics. A B2B brand here needs spec sheets, packaging and fleet graphics as much as a website.
  • A record tourism year, and Wynn in 2027The Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) counted 1.35 million overnight visitors in 2025, up 6%, and targets over 3.5 million visitors and twice the hotel keys by 2030. Wynn Al Marjan Island, the UAE’s first integrated resort, is due to open in September 2027, so new hospitality brands compete with global names.
  • Innovation City: a free zone that rebrandedIn September 2025, RAK Digital Assets Oasis relaunched as Innovation City, a tech free zone for AI, Web3, gaming, robotics and healthtech. A startup licensed there pitches to investors and users from day one, so its identity has to work on an app icon and a deck as well as on a sign.
  • Tourism brands sit beside the RAK logoRAKTDA unveiled the emirate’s destination brand at Arabian Travel Market in 2021. It is built on the kashida, an extendable line in Arabic script, and RAKTDA offers its logos and guidelines for download for marketing. If your hotel, tour or restaurant campaigns will carry it, I test your mark beside it.

Questions founders ask

Do you have an office in Ras Al Khaimah?

No. I work remotely with businesses in Ras Al Khaimah, whether your license comes from RAKEZ, Innovation City or the DED. The free first call and the weekly check-ins are set in GMT+4, in your working hours, and proposals come in USD or AED.

I need a visual identity designer for a new RAKEZ company. What comes first?

Start with the licensed company name, because the logo, domain and trademark all build on it. RAKEZ has companies from more than 100 countries, so decide early whether Arabic or English leads on each touchpoint. If you need to trade from the license date, start with a logo (2–4 weeks) and grow it into a full brand identity (4–10 weeks), which adds strategy, a full color and type system, imagery, voice, guidelines and a Figma library.

Our RAK factory or hotel has changed since it launched. Can you rebrand it?

Yes. As a rebranding specialist I work remotely with Ras Al Khaimah companies. If a factory, hotel or RAKEZ company has changed what it sells or who it sells to, a rebrand covers a new strategy and identity and takes 6–12 weeks; if people know the brand and only the look has dated, a brand refresh takes 3–6 weeks. If the name changes, check your RAKEZ or DED license and your trademark with your lawyer before launch.

I’m opening a hotel, restaurant or tour business on the RAK coast. What should the brand cover?

It should be planned for everything a guest sees, from the sign and menus to uniforms and social posts, in Arabic and English. Four Seasons, Fairmont and Taj hotels are announced for the emirate, so a new brand has to hold its own next to international hotel brands, and it may appear beside RAKTDA’s destination logo in campaigns. A brand identity sets the logo, type, color and imagery, shows them on those touchpoints and puts the rules in guidelines, in 4–10 weeks.

Do you file the trademark with the Ministry of Economy and Tourism?

No. Trademark filing is not part of a design project: your lawyer files it, and I hand over clean final files. On the mainland the RAK DED registers your trade name, but the trademark is a federal registration. The Ministry checks each mark against identical or similar ones and says it decides within 90 days of filing; accepted marks are published in the Official Trademark Bulletin for a 30-day objection period. My separate naming service includes a preliminary search of marks registered in the UAE.

How much does branding cost in Ras Al Khaimah?

It depends on the scope: a logo for a new RAKEZ or Innovation City company, a full identity for a hotel opening on the coast, or a factory rebrand, in one language or two. After a free 30-minute call you get a fixed written proposal in USD or AED with one price, the timeline and the deliverables, and the price never changes mid-project.

Are the projects on this page Ras Al Khaimah clients?

They are not presented as Ras Al Khaimah clients. I chose them for their sector, not their location. Astrix Builders (hoardings, fleet) and ROMO Logistics (fleet, signage, packaging) are my closest work to RAKEZ industry and Saqr Port shipping. Reva7, a resort brand with signage, amenities and booking, and Lyvio, an AI real estate brand for the Middle East market, are closest to the emirate’s tourism and real estate. All four are English-script work; my Arabic–English example is Lacio, in the bilingual brand guide.
